Passage - Falconhurst Estate 2024 -

Sculpture

Artist Statement:

Influences within my work stem from a passion for stone and a direct interest in

archaeological and anthropological objects.

This new body of work has evolved through research exploring our relationship with standing stones and sacred sites and how they continue to capture our imagination and teach us about past civilisations.

The stones of the past become reimagined as witnesses to cosmological stories and are emblematic of our neolithic past. The space between the marble becomes a sanctuary. There is a sense of enclosure yet protection. The sculptures become figures and objects in the landscape, sharing characteristics of our origins and the mutability of being.
